2018 Maryland Cups
The Morton Cup is the Maryland cup competition in honor of former MSSA Vice President Darwin "Lefty" Morton. For years, Lefty could be found on the touchlines (usually near the corner) of the various Maryland cup competitions. This Cup is for teams that do not enter either the Rowland or Stewart Cup. This competition is a state cup and the winner does not advance to any regional qualifier.
The Maryland O-30 & O-40 Cups are the Maryland championships for those age categories. The winners will advance to the USASA Region I qualifiers.
Teams registered and playing in any MSSA affiliated league are eligible to enter the cup. Teams playing in non-affiliated leagues are eligible but must register all of their players prior to taking part in the competition. Teams that enter the Morton Cup are not eligible to enter the Rowland or Stewart Cups.
A draw will be held for all of our cup competitions. Clubs will not be seeded. The format may be single elimination or group round robin for the Morton Cup.
The cups will begin in January and we try to conclude by mid-March. Matches will be played primarily on Sundays.
Teams must enter online through this site. The deadline to enter the cups is 15 December 2017. The entry fee is $105 per cup (convenience fee included) and must be paid online.
Referee fees for the cups are $170.00 ($85.00 per team) and paid at the field by each team.
